Classical trio including Vivian Stephens - violin, Lucy Gijsbers - cello and Thomas Nikora - piano.

Kodaly - Duo for Violin and Cello, 1st movement.
Beethoven - Piano Trio in C Minor, Op.1 no 3.
Brahms - Piano Trio in B Major, 1st movement.

Vivian Stephens graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the New Zealand School of Music in 2010, during which time he studied violin with several teachers at the school, including Martin Riseley, Ursula Evans, and Vesa Matti-Leppänen.

He has been a member of the NZSO National Youth Orchestra and was part of the Wellington Youth Orchestra from 2002-2007, and since 2008 he has worked as a violinist in Orchestra Wellington.

Lucy Gijsbers attained her Master of Musical Arts in cello performance from the NZSM in 2015. She has performed throughout NZ and Australia and is also an accomplished pianist. Lucy has been a contract player with the NZSO and has been invited to study at the Royal College of Music in London this September.

Thomas Nikora graduated with a BMus in piano performance from the NZSM last year, studying with renowned pianist Jian Liu. Aside from trio concerts and other solo piano engagements he is an active vocalist and musical director, and also conducts Cantoris Choir and the Tawa Orchestra.

Take a lunch break from work, bring your sandwiches and enjoy sublime music in the wonderful atmosphere of Old St Paul's.

Entry is free, but your koha is welcome to defray expenses.
