Louise Clifton in conversation with Stephen Cleland about Shoe School

This Friday we are pleased to be joined by Dunedin-based artist and founder of Shoe School, Louise Clifton. Clifton will discuss how she adapted her art-school training to set up a craft-based business. She also provides insight into her experiences of recently undertaking a residency in Japan with a Japanese master known for his manufacture of bespoke footwear.

The conversation concludes a two-day workshop in which Clifton will coopt an area of The Tomorrow People exhibition and teach students to make bespoke sandals within the galleries. Pop by during open hours on Thursday and Friday to see her in action.

All welcome. Refreshments served.
