A must see play full of laughter, tears and fun, with toe-tapping songs from the Swinging 60s that will have you dancing in the aisles.

Winning a talent quest could be just the answer for four women as they swap their hairbrushes for microphones and head off on a humorous and poignant journey to transform themselves into an all-girl singing group.

From hairbrushes to microphones, this bitter-sweet comedy is a delightful and inspiring slice of life. Four very different women in a hairdressing salon share their hopes and dreams, fears and regrets as they prepare for a local talent quest. Winning the contest might save the failing Blue Heaven salon.

There’s Jo (Juliet Manning), the distracted, disappointed, try-hard salon manager and Jenny (Sam Weir), her nervous apprentice. Jess (Libby Wilson), is the loud, domineering character with plenty of attitude while Jan (Donna Buchanan), will be a relatable character to those in their middle age.

The humorous interplay of characters as they rehearse for their musical act is beautifully balanced against the more poignant moments where they attempt to free themselves of their own inner programme regarding parochialism and chauvinism.

Through these personal glimpses shines a true triumph of spirit as the action escalates towards a rousing musical finish.

This play has been a winner wherever performed and we are expecting a fabulous season.
