Kupu Tupu is a Maori Language word game being developed in Taita. Come along and have a go. We’d love your feedback!

The game is a little like Scrabble, but with some extra helpful hints and tricks. It’s being developed by Hutt City Council staff from the Walter Nash Centre (Centre Staff, Taita Library and the Fitness Suite) and Taita Clubhouse staff and students.

They wanted to create a fun tool for learning Te Reo because there are lots of people in their community who love the language and enjoy a challenge. They've had lots of fun so far, playing the game and finessing the rules and are now ready to let it loose on a wider audience.

Kupu Tupu is part of Beyond the Page, a literary festival for children and youth on from 8-23 July, find out more on our website.
