John Parsons Seminar On Internet Safety for Parents

John Parsons is New Zealand's leading expert on Internet Safety for children and young people. He works with schools, police, Oranga Tamariki and others, and provides a series of workshops and seminars.

John has been interviewed on TV and radio on a number of occasions and Palmerston North is fortunate to have him come to region over 4 days. This is an all important area for all parents to learn about.

John will be taking a seminar for parents highlighting the strengths and potential dangers of the Cyber world and the steps that parents need to take to make sure that their children have the skills to navigate this world.

John has recently published, 'Keeping your children safe Online: A guide for New Zealand parents', which has received high recommendation. John will be able to sign copies of his book at the seminar. Go to his website, www.johnparsons.nz and view a 90 second clip of John talking about his book.

Social Socks Charitable Trust, in conjunction with the Palmerston North Local Initiative, MidCentral DHB Public Health Unit, Crest Hospital and Palmerston North Hospital Postgraduate Society have brought John to Palmerston North for 4 days to start the all important conversation about how we can work together to support children and young people manage the Cyber world.
