Coinciding with the two weeks in early March Steve Bell is here to participate in this year's Hood Fellowship programme, the Gus Fisher Gallery is hosting an exhibition of his political cartoons.

He has received various “Cartoonist of the Year” title awards in 1994, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2008 and published extensively in book format and made animated films. He is an alumni of the Universities of Exeter and Leeds.

At the university, he will also be presenting workshops with the Elam School of Fine Arts and Political Studies students, and present a public talk. During the Fellowship he will also visit the cartoon archive at the Alexander Turnbull Library in Wellington.

The Hood Fellowship Fund supports international academic exchange through hosting eminent scholars from offshore institutions and funding outstanding academics of our own to travel to the world’s most prestigious places of learning.
