Hi all, Husky Hikes is on again and we will be doing the forest walk (approx. 5km).

It is mainly flat but bumpy and sandy. So good grippy sneakers are necessary.

We all walk together so no one gets lost. But as we have some dogs that need their space we have plenty of wide track to spread out on.

Arrive 6.15pm to 6.45pm (depending on pats required first). We aim to leave at 7pm so please be there early especially if walking dogs. Plan on being here for around 2 hours.

Option 1:
Bring Your Own Dog
Ideally secure set up e.g.
Walking belt, bungy lead and harness with a neck line and a limited slip collar.
(Available for $170 from Urbanwolf.co.nz ask Suvi for the 'Husky Rescue NZ starter kit').

If you don't have this set up then you need to be very sure that your dog is going to be secure the entire walk. Otherwise your dog escaping can have negative impact on us and the other clubs using the forest. It is also a horse park.
Limited slip collars are advised and we reserve the right to put one on any dog walking with us if we feel the dog doesn't look secure.

Option 2:
Walking Our Dogs Aka Hire a Husky.
$10 per dog.
Booking compulsory online see ticket url - right of refusal retained.
Please be aware you are paying for the hire of the husky and gear. The forest is public access, however it is compulsory that we all walk together.
