One exhibition you shouldn't miss...

Artist, outlaw, career criminal - if you Google artist Simon Kerr, you will find all these descriptors for him.

But there's more to Simon than the chequered history of offending and incarceration that he lived from the age of 15. While in prison, he discovered art and was recognised as having considerable talent (for which he credits his mother). All his exhibitions have sold out. He is one of few whose lives have changed for the better through being in prison.

Be the first to see Simon's latest series - a reflection on the 13 days and nights he holed himself up on a tower at the old Mt Eden Prison (The Rock) in 1994 - with very little food and only a makeshift shelter.

Simon will be at the preview - Friday 23 June, 6 - 8.30pm. All paintings are for sale and are being posted on the FB Event page as we receive the images from the artist. https://www.facebook.com/events/216023252247330/ .

All enquiries to: lizcaughey@xtra.co.nz or 021 15 17 087. Nau mai haere mai - all welcome.
