Designed to be of practical help to busy parents wanting to ensure a healthy diet for their children and family, we’ll look at the nutrients we need for a healthy body; the effects of salt, sugar and fat in our diet; how to read and understand food labels to make healthy choices; tips for feeding fussy kids and look at ideas and recipes for the dreaded lunchbox.

No prior knowledge of nutrition is required.

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
- List the macronutrients that our bodies need to be healthy and identify a food for each nutrient
- Describe the long-term effects of too much fat, salt and sugar have on the body
- Confidently read food labels
- State four tips for encouraging children to eat healthy food
- Feel confident to try out one or more healthy recipes on the family
