These short films share a focus on wāhine, many have won awards and travelled internationally, and all have Māori creative input in key roles. The majority of the directors are themselves wāhine. This collection was selected by Turnbull Gallery curators Catherine Bisley and Ariana Tikao to support the current exhibition, Wāhine: Beyond the Dusky Maiden, at the gallery which Ngā Taonga is proud to support. The films in Selection One are listed below.

Ahi Kā - 2014
