Hawaiian Dance

Learn the basic Hula steps from the ancient (Kahiko) and modern (Auana) Hula, such as Hela, Kaholo, Ami, Kao and gain a basic knowledge of the Hawaiian words used in the dances, which help you remember the hand motions. You’ll be able to do three complete dances by the end of the course: One slow, one medium speed and one fast.

Wear comfortable clothing, with a sarong or skirt if you have one.

By the end of the course, you'll be able to:
- Master the basic steps of Hula
- Recognise some Hawaiian words, eg. pua for flower
- Confidently perform three beautiful dances (and be able to dazzle your friends!)
- Recognise the difference between ancient (Kahiko) and modern (Auana) Hula

(This is a physical activity that involves an element of risk. While all possible measures are taken to prevent accidents or injury, please note that participation is at your own risk).
