Harbour Grown Dinner

Sorry this event has been and gone

  • Sat 25 Feb ’17, 6:00pm

Diamond Harbour Rugby Club, Purau Ave, Banks Peninsula

All Ages

Students will be preparing, cooking and presenting a 3-course dinner using locally sourced produce.

All funds raised will be used to invest in the Diamond Harbour School Te Mahi Kai, a school-wide programme teaching students a broad range of gardening and cooking skills. Within Te Mahi Kai students learn to look after a worm farm, keep chickens, recognise pollinators and pests, sow seeds and look after plants, they then harvest the produce which they learn how to turn into meals as well as preserving for later use.

How to participate:
- Pick up a brochure from DH School, DH Library or Lyttelton Information Centre.
- Book a ticket by filling the form in the Harbour Grown Dinner brochure and delivering the form along with $15 to the Diamond Harbour School office by Monday the 13th of February.
- Drop your produce off to Diamond Harbour School on Tuesday 21st of February (or by arrangement if perishable - Phone Maria Lee on 3293359)

What can I provide?
Each guest is asked to contribute 500g of produce towards the dinner. You can provide anything that you have grown, harvested, foraged, fished or hunted such as: herbs, salad greens, fruit, nuts, honey, eggs, vegetables, potatoes, fish, meat, berries, sprouts, chutney, bottled fruit, seeds, milk and cheese.
