Green Party Fundraiser! Sensational youth directed play from recent Nelson Fringe Festival to repeat performance!

Mr Beckenbauer’s Unfortunate Encounter with Enlightenment, a play directed and acted by a trio of Young Greens, are having a Green fundraising orientated reshow. At the Fringe Festival last month, this spectacular performance received a full house and won the Audience's Favourite award. A second viewing has been highly requested.

Creator’s and actors of the play, Daniel Merry, Indigo Levett and Rohan O’Neill-Stevens, known as the Ironic Theatre of the Absurd, are all passionate Green Party supporters. Indigo says she backs the Green Party of Aotearoa because “The Green Party’s values and policies look after everyone, from a grassroots level to an economic level, and they recognise the importance of the individual.”

The Play follows Brain Beckenbauer, an abnormally normal man who's mundane life is turned upside down as excitable neighbours, passionate door-knockers and an omnipotent narrator create buzzy inter-dimensional adventure in which he encounters various challenges, including a pinch of spontaneous enlightenment. It is about new experience, existential awareness and how being left alone isn’t always the best for people.

Ticket sales are online, available via Kate Fulton’s Green Party Candidate for West Coast - Tasman Facebook page as well as via the Ironic Theatre of the Absurd’s Facebook page.

Booking fees apply to online ticket sales.
