Presentation and astrophotography animations Fraser Gunn: Astrophotography and night-time time-lapse animations.

In this presentation, Fraser Gunn will present some of his amazing night-sky time-lapse animations, beautifully set to music.

He will also discuss his methods used for astrophotography.

Finally, Fraser will show some of his fantastic night skies still images and images of the environment and flora and fauna of the Mackenzie Basin.

Fraser Gunn comes from Southland but has lived in the Mackenzie since 1999. He worked for Earth & Sky for several years, where he introduced the techniques of astrophotography to Astro-tourists, and a few years later he established his own astrophotography business in Tekapo.

Fraser now lives in Fairlie and is employed as an observer at Mt John Observatory, working on research projects for the University of Canterbury astronomers.

This event is part of the Aoraki Mackenzie Starlight Festival. The Festival, a biennial event, celebrates the creation of the southern hemisphere’s first International Dark Sky Reserve, in the Mackenzie Basin and at Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park in the centre of New Zealand’s South Island.
