We would love for you to join us for this live event...
Trio Santa Morena are back and playing at the Mex on Wednesday.

In case you're wondering what forró is.. It's a genre of Brazilian music that originated in Northeastern Brazil.

The band will be playing from 8.30pm and finishing up around 10pm. The restaurant and bar will be open till late.

About the band: The Trio Santa Morena has the traditional formation of the forró, composed by accordion, triangle and zabumba. The Trio had its initial formation in Brazil, with Marcelo (acordeon), Mariana (triangle) and Rafinha (zabumba), but with the arrival of the first two in New Zealand, it was necessary to find someone to replace the zabumbeiro. Here, they met Miguel, an excellent Carioca musician who perfectly completes this new formation and together they seek to expand this joyful and contagious Brazilian rhythm.

Come on up, have a margarita, a plate of nachos and dance the night away... We look forward to seeing you on the dance floor!
