Dancing is not a crime!
PNBHS and PNGHS are very proud to continue our tradition of high-class musical theatre with this punchy 1980s' icon.
Footloose tells the story of teenager Ren McCormack and his mother, Ethel, moving from urban Chicago to Bomont in the rural bible belt south of the USA, and the clash of attitudes it results in when Ren discovers his niche activity, dancing, is banned.
Several numbers became big hits of the era including Footloose, Let's Hear It For the Boy, Almost Paradise and Holding Out For a Hero. This is the real deal in musical theatre with a live band - no backing tracks - and the company has been in rehearsal since October 2016.
Our perennial goal is to achieve performance excellence building on the reputation established over many years, most recently with Guys and Dolls 2014, West Side Story 2015 and Happy Days 2016. Patrons can look forward to a high energy, highly polished and engaging performance.
