How did soldiers cook during World War I, and what food did their families send them? The first of three talks by curator Kirstie Ross, Gallipoli: The scale of our war exhibition curator.

Hear about the methods of cooking during the First World War, trench food, and food parcels that families sent to soldiers at the front. These heartfelt stories are presented by Kirstie Ross, together with fellow history curator Dr Katie Cooper. There will also be time afterwards to ask Kirstie and Katie questions.

After the talk, relax with a delicious Devonshire tea at Espresso cafe for $8.

You can also receive a 20% discount on all items at Te Papa Store, Level 2 – our specialist shop for World War I books and other merchandise.

This free public talk is part of the Inside Gallipoli: Talks, Tours, and Teas series 21 Aug - 1 Sep 2017.
