Against the backdrop of the Kaipara Harbour, 1km trail wind through a secluded valley displaying the beauty of iconic New Zealand landscapes with more than 40 sculptures by emerging and established New Zealand and international artists who are passionate about expressing their ideas through sculpture, revealed at every turn.

The new sculptures relate, reflect and explore the natural beauty of this region of Auckland, the Kaipara Harbour, the flora and fauna, threats to the environment, the history of the land, colonisation and socio-political issues relating to this area, New Zealand and where our country fits in the global arena.

The 1km trail links the varied sculptures in a visual treat which take about 1 hour to leisurely walk. Come and enjoy a relaxed art and garden experience with a stroll along a gentle 1km sculpture & garden trail set in a tranquil and inspirational rural oasis, located at the award-winning Kaipara Coast Plant Centre, just 40 minutes drive from Auckland City.

Sculptures are for sale and the display changes completely every 12 months with the new exhibition opening in December each year to give you a fresh experience each time you come.

Exhibition 2017 "Under Kaipara Skies" features sculptural work by Jeff Thomson, Margaret Johnston, Cherrie James, Margaret Johnston, Geraldine and David Bayly, Kaukapakapa Primary School Room 7, Bassam (Bruce) W. Hubbard, Boud van den Bemd, John Philips, Bev Goodwin, Kirsten Newton, Community Project, Darryl Fagence, Sharonagh Montrose, Michael Kennedy, Mia Hamilton;

The Conservation Track takes around an extra 30 minutes to walk, with a reasonable level of fitness recommended and is not suitable for pushchairs.
