Celebrate the last day of Chinese New Year at Dunedin Chinese Garden.

Experience the tranquil atmosphere of the Garden at dusk while contemplating what the New Year might bring. With the first full moon of the new lunar year in the night sky, there will be free green tea to sip while you enjoy the sound of live traditional Chinese music.

Normal admission charges apply. Children under 13 free.
Additional charges may apply for some events.

Cooking class - Tang Yuan:
Learn how to make this traditional Chinese festival food that families enjoy at the end of Chinese New Year. Limited spaces, bookings essential.

7:30pm - Tea House - $5 to cover cost of materials.

Traditional tea ceremony and tea tasting:
Visit the world of tea and enjoy a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, with plenty of opportunity to taste a variety of Chinese teas.

Two sessions - 7:15pm and 9:15pm - Courtyard

Tower Room storytelling:
Hear our talented storyteller, Danny Still, weave magical tales of Chinese folklore for both children and adults. Be transported through time to what the Garden may have been like in ancient times.

7:30pm - Tower Room

Tai Chi:
Be more than just a spectator of the ancient art of classical tai chi. Watch the demonstration, get a feel for the moves and join in the art of moving meditation. No experience required.

8:15pm - Courtyard

Activities throughout the evening:
- Lantern riddle quiz
- Free lanterns for children
- Tea shop open for refreshments
- Gift shop special - 10% off all gift shop items!
