The Theory behind the importance of movement. A person's physical literacy is their motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge and understanding of the physical activity. The early years are an important time to begin this development. This workshop is for all Early Childhood Educators who wish to gain knowledge and understanding of how they can assist children to develop physical literacy. The professional development workshop will cover:

- What is physical literacy?
- The theory behind developing vital brain connections.
- What are the basic movement skills for children in the early years?
- How to implement these skills in your centre.
- How to incorporate physical literacy into learning stories.
