Ever wondered what it is like to paddle in a dragon boat? Now is your chance.

Central Region Dragon Boat Association - with the support of CanSurvive and Valley Dragonboat Club - are holding an open day.

We'll provide you with a life jacket, paddle, and instruction by experienced dragon boaters. You just need to bring a change of clothes and "give it a go" attitude.

- Long trousers cannot be worn on the boat as it is difficult to swim in them in case there is a capsize (unlikely, but safety first). Wear shorts wetsuit, compression gear or tights .
- Due to the Sunday market at Frank Kitts Park and WOW, parking places may be hard to find.
- Last boat goes on the water at 1:30PM. So arrive by 1PM to make sure you get to paddle.

You can also talk to club members about joining a team (the clubs have mixed, women, masters, and breast cancer survivor teams) or if you have paddled before, maybe introduce your colleagues to paddling.

If there are strong Northerlies, (Southerlies and rain don't bother us) the event will be postponed to Sunday 15 October.

Email - crdba.nz@gmail.com for more information or to reserve a seat in the boat.
