A Rare opportunity to hear a world-class speaker from his background as a Professor of both science (Ethics of nanomedicine University Hospital Basel Switzerland ) and numerous senior teaching posts on Christianity in Europe and the USA.

Now head of Verax Institute http://veraxinstitut.ch/en/, he is travelling to speak to us about issues affecting church and society. He is always very well researched and unafraid to say things that may unsettle those who prefer popular culture.

Though open to the public we will require politeness in question time and respect for the effort he has made to come this far. Feel free to come and listen and ask questions as what we want is for people to be able to go away thinking so as to reach their own conclusions in due course. Entry is free but a freewill offering to help defray the international flight costs will be taken.

021-02016000 "Waka" for any questions. Hope to see you there and that you will let your view of the world be intellectually challenged.

In Martins words, his topic is "I will speak about the influence of Civil Religion in society and on the church (both negative, as you might have guessed). Although there are different civil religions in operation in each country, they function nearly the same in whatever context they appear (they are highly adaptable). Thus, it is possible to use the main Civil Religion of America as an example and then extrapolate as need be to explain their function in other countries."

A serious topic from a speaker of a calibre we don't see every day so please do come out and take part.

Tour arranged by Christian Witness Ministries and Hosted in Johnsonville by The Ark Fellowship.

Venue is the main hall of the community centre.
