A photographic exploration of Art Deco Napier.

Inspired by the local urban landscape, and to celebrate the Art Deco architecture, the CAN micro-exhibition for the month of July will feature Diana Hough’s beautiful photographic work.

Diana is a talented and experienced Napier photographer, who translates her work into framed art pieces, cushions and objects. All items will be for sale.

"I have always expressed myself creatively, be it through floristry, colour consultancy, interior design or other avenues. My love of photography developed through the desire to capture the beauty of the English countryside as we explored it on our canal boat, the Molly Rose. I take delight in freezing moments of time and telling a story through images.

I often photograph small and somewhat intimate details of a scene, drawing the viewers eye to beauty and interest within the scope of the ordinary, and revealing something new. Napier’s Art Deco festival is rich with colour, pattern and poetic scenes and has provided me with much inspiration.

I have experimented in this project, with applying my photographs to different surfaces, including fabric and wood."
