Massey University Alumni Relations invite you to attend one of upcoming networking functions with Associate Pro Vice Chancellor (Executive Education & Enterprise), Mike Fiszer.

In the red corner is the brash pretender - or at least their suit jacket is - draped permanently over the back of their desk chair and earning them plaudits for working late. In the blue corner, there is you - consistently delivering a good performance but now looking to really land the punches, just not sure that you have the energy.

Cue the theme music from Rocky.

Wouldn't it be great if you wanted to run into work on Monday mornings? Would it then feel like work? To do this you need to find “the job” that you love so then, as Confucius asserted, “You will never have to work a day in your life”.

If you join the workforce at 20 and retire at 65 you would spend around 94,500 hours of your life at work. If that’s mind boggling enough, what’s even scarier is how much of that time Kiwis spend unhappy in their jobs. A recent figure given for millennials is that less than 30% feel engaged with their work, while the majority – at 65% - do not.

Are you one of these? How do you get the job you love and a well-lived life?

During this presentation, Mike will take a strengths-based approach and examine neuroscience at work that will allow you to:
- Gain insight into the most common issues that employees get stuck with in a job
- Get an understanding of some of the ways our brain works, and why we can’t always find the perfect job just by using our intellect
- Learn how to work with your emotions instead of against them
- Get your values contributing to your work and a well-lived life
- Know how to find a job you love.

Event is free to attend but please register as space is limited.
