We never know when life is going to deliver a curve ball and at those times a listening ear can be a big help. Everyone can learn these skills, which are valuable in any sphere of life.
Peers can help each other make difficult decisions or come to grips with painful experiences. Co-counselling is a grassroots method of personal change based on reciprocal counselling.
It uses simple methods where time is shared equally and the essential requirement of the person taking their turn in the role of counsellor is to do their best to listen and give their full attention to the other person.
This one-day workshop will cover issues such as personal boundaries, ethics, listening skills, effective questioning and sharing.
By the end of the day, you’ll be able to:
- Define personal boundaries
- Provide open listening
- Ask helpful questions
- Listen using a range of skills
- Demonstrate attending behaviour
