"Reflecting Bach" is a series of recitals by USA-based New Zealand cellist Christopher Hutton, celebrating the three-hundredth anniversary of Johann Sebastian Bach’s beloved six Suites for Unaccompanied Cello.

Originally from Wellington, Christopher Hutton is the cellist of the Poinsett Piano Trio and Associate Professor of Violoncello at Furman University, South Carolina. He has performed widely, both solo and chamber music recitals, in New Zealand, USA and Europe.

His programme juxtaposes the music of Bach with later pieces by Max Reger, Benjamin Britten, and the American composers William Bolcom, John Harbison, and John Corigliano – all of whom were inspired by Bach in different ways, and all written for solo cello.
