A night to look forward to at Kumeu Live with Caitlin Smith and Paul Symons. Last year's performance was magical, with so many memorable moments with both artists performing original and covers of their favourite songs. BYO drinks, wine glasses provided, $19 to secure tickets on Eventfinda or $20 at the door.

Caitlin is one of Auckland's best known jazz vocalists, regularly seen out working at venues like all over the city. Some of you may not know that she writes great songs as well, which you will hear during her performance. Caitlin has the ability to draw her audience into the songs and hold them in the palm of her hand. In 1997 she joined up with guitarists Steve Gerrish and Graeme Webb to form The Fondue Set. In addition to regular gigs around Auckland, the group produced three albums. She has also performed as The Caitlin Smith Trio or Quartet and participates in other events with a variety of artists.

Paul Symons lives in Kumeu. He played his first gig in his late teens in Dunedin. Paul caught the bug, gigging solo around Dunedin & Otago, writing songs, & recording a demo EP. He decided to maximize the ‘Bluesness’ of life by acquiring a vintage Bedford school bus & heading off in a neverending spiral around the South & occasionally the North island, playing pubs, ski fields, motorcycle rallies & festivals. Along the way holding down the job as oilrig worker, gardener, painter, wharfie, builder, sawmill & dump
truck driver (strictly for the ‘JohnnyCashness’). The everexpanding tour came to a welcome halt in Auckland in the mid90s & the house bus was tethered.
