A Polish Cultural Concert Celebrating 145 Years of Polish Settlement in New Zealand.
The Federation of Polish Organisations in NZ (FPONZ) and the Event Organising Committee cordially invites for the Polish cultural journey, presenting Polish history in NZ and the best of Polish culture.
Proudly supported by the Polish Embassy in New Zealand.

The Polish Drama Theatre "Fantazja" from Sydney Australia. The theatre group will be performing the play “Klub Kobiet Porzuczonych – Abandoned Women Club” - a farce about female friends who support each other in crisis situations. Sipping good wine and enjoying the specialties of Italian cuisine, they complain about the wrong life choices. But can you live without love? What does really matter in life? What do we really secretly wait for? Is the need to find a soul mate so big that it is sometimes worth losing ... a little dignity? (in Polish with English Subtitles).

Jolanta Kossakowska from Poland. A vocalist who also plays stringed instruments such as medieval fiddles, gęśle, and baroque violin. She is a songwriter as well as a composer of music for theatre and film. Her band Mosaik fuses the traditional music of Poland with the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern musical traditions. Jolanta is a winner of the Polish Radio New Tradition Folk Music Festival – Golden Fiddle Special Award.

Margaret Copland. A descendant of several of the Polish families who arrived in Canterbury on the Friedeburg in 1872. Margaret is a full-time professional storyteller. She has twice toured America and been featured at prestigious storytelling festivals like Corn Island, in Kentucky and Glistening Waters in New Zealand. Her story of Rosalia tells of the journey from the Vistula to the Waimakariri.

Door sales will also be available from 1.00pm.
