Giuseppe Petrella is making his first visit to Wellington.

He studied at the Niccolò Piccinni Conservatory of Music in Bari, Italy, majoring in guitar and bassoon. His passion for music lead him to master in ancient instruments, notably the theorbo and Baroque guitar.

Giuseppe’s skills have been recognized by the prizes he has won in national and international competitions. He has represented Italy in international Baroque festivals and has toured globally both as a soloist and with orchestras.

Giuseppe has taught in music conservatories in Venezuela and Moscow and taken workshops at the Beijing, Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne Conservatories.

A one-hour recital of Baroque pieces by 16th Century composers Gaspar Sanz, Francesco Corbetta and Santiago de Murcia. Everyone is invited to stay for coffee after the performance.

Concert entry is by way of folding koha, which will assist with Giuseppe's travel costs, and will also support Kaibosh food rescue.
