Babysitters Course with real - coaching for parents & educators. For babysitters and community volunteers who work with young children.

Cost includes a Child First Aid Course, lunch and workshop. Limited to 20 participants.

St John Child First Aid Course - Includes NZQA unit standard 25459. Covers common first aid emergencies experienced by children.

The course emphasises practical skills in an interesting, interactive learning environment.

By successfully completing this course, you will:
- Be able to recognise life-threatening situations
- Be able to offer vital assistance before more experienced help arrives

- Scene assessment
- CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
- Managing choking
- Control of bleeding
- Severe allergic reactions
- Broken bones
- Breathing problems
- Seizures
- Burns
- Poisoning

- Lunch is provided
- Workshop for Babysitters with real - coaching for parents & educators

- Interactive, practical workshop that will prepare you to care for children competently while having fun
- Knowledge, skills and strategies for you to focus on the needs of children
- Play is a very important part of this workshop
- You will receive a certificate of completion

About the Facilitator: Diane McKinstry Consultant for parents & educators:
Fully Registered Teacher, Teachers Trained Certificate (Primary), Graduate Diploma (Early Childhood)

My background includes being a parent, foster parent, sports’ chaplain, newspaper columnist, music & movement facilitator, playgroup facilitator and a community worker.

Member of the International Play Association and the Children & Nature Network.
