Beyond the Page

Enter the world of Lucinda Guillierre: a world where membership in one of the four magic guilds magic guilds guarantees respect and wealth. Why then is Lucinda so afraid? What happens when a long-buried secret comes to light? And who is trying to kill her?

Barbara Howe has created a unique fantasy world for YA readers. Come and hear her talk about her new novel “The Locksmith” and the importance of portraying intelligent female protagonists in YA books.

Bio:
Barbara Howe moved to New Zealand in 2009 and originally hails from North Carolina, USA. She is a passionate reader who considers reading as much a part of her life as eating or breathing.

“The Locksmith” grew from the daydream movies playing in Barbara’s head and encouraged by her husband and daughter she turned them into a book. Now the ink won’t stop flowing!
