The African Communities Forum Inc (ACOFI) invites all Aucklanders and visitors to celebrate the 54th anniversary of Africa Day at a free community festival.

This year’s theme is ‘New Era of Africa’s Responsibility for Freedom, Peace & Unity’.

In a departure from past celebrations, and thanks to funding from Auckland Council, the Lottery Grants Boarfd, Love Cover Protect and the New Zealand African Welfare Services Trust, ACOFI will be hosting a festival in celebration of Auckland Africa Day.

Food stalls include:
- Ethiopian
- Sudanese
- Tanzanian
- South African
- Congalese
- Ethiopian coffee ceremony

Plus:
- Candy and drinks
- Organic Popcorn

African business stalls include:
- African clothes
- African jewelry
- African foodstuffs
- Perfumes
- Hair braiding

Information provider stalls:
- New Zealand African Welfare Services Trust
- Green Party
- Notable Pictures
- DHB
- Auckland Regional Migrant Services
- CAB
- Wise
- Red Cross
- Electoral Commission
- Love Cover Protect
- South African Radio NZ

Children's activities including:
- Bouncy castle
- Bubbles

Performances:
Music from talented young African performers:
- Chika
- Shottaz
- Mukkaka

Dancing and artistry including:
- Burundian drummers
- Bollywood performers
- Salsa dancers
- Tamil performers
- Caribbean steel band
- South Korean dancers
- Afrocuban performers
- DJ sets throughout the day and from 5pm to 7pm.
