This ever-popular style in 19th-century French art has many dimensions. In this course, you will look at Impressionism as a source of progressive landscape painting and its importance in depicting modern life and social issues.

You will see the work of all the principal Impressionist painters and appreciate the significance of this group's push for independence in the late 19th-century French art world.
