Journalist Adam Dudding’s father Robin was a leading literary light of his time, but he was also a deeply troubled man.

Dudding has detailed his family’s tumultuous life in My Father’s Island, winner of the Best First Book Award for General Non-Fiction and shortlisted for Best Non-Fiction at this year’s Ockham Book Awards. Nelson journalist and dad Charles Anderson joins him in conversation about writing, fatherhood – and how to get away with publishing your family’s secrets.

Part of the Page & Blackmore Readers and Writers programme.

Hear more for less with two special offers: 5 for $50 or 10 for $90 (plus TicketDirect service fee). Excludes the Thinking Brunches. Choose the five or ten talks you wish to attend at a discounted price. Offers can be used for a group booking. These special offers are only available from Theatre Royal Nelson.

Come early to order coffee - when the talking begins the machine is turned off!

Continue the conversation at 10am on both Tuesdays after the weekend sessions, with discussion groups at Nelson’s Elma Turner Library.
