Trustpower Baypark Stadium, 81 Truman Ln, Mt Maunganui

All Ages

Coinciding with the release of Angelina Jolie's Netflix drama "First they killed my Father" the Cambodia Charitable Trust brings you the compelling true story of Soeun Ouch, a child growing up in war-torn Cambodia during the 1970's.

Soeun will share his story of growing up under the brutal Pol Pot regime, including his time as a child in the Khmer Rouge working gangs and how he started his education at 16 after the country was liberated.

Penglong Ngor, Cambodia's Director of Teacher Training, will speak about challenges the country faces in educating its children and how the Tauranga-based Cambodia Charitable Trust is helping to overcome some of these.

Ticket price includes nibbles and two complimentary drinks.

All funds raised will go directly to the Cambodia Charitable Trust to help build brighter futures through education.
