Queenstown Memorial Centre, 1 Memorial Drive, Queenstown

Official Website

Witness the world’s top talents on the launch pad when sixteen breath-taking young artists compete in this internationally-renowned major violin competition set against the backdrop of the Remarkables.

Audiences can experience the thrill of the hunt up close and personal in the intimate Queenstown Memorial Centre and decide for themselves who will win the grand prize.

Flexible attendance options cater to the classical music connoisseur as well as the dabblers and folks just wanting to enjoy the weekend. Purchase one session (about three hours), or an all-session pass for flexibility throughout the event. Or get swept up, stuck in and attend the lot.

The popular Insiders’ Guide (presented at the start of each day and free to ticket holders) informs curious audience members what to listen for and answers their pressing questions – it’s like wine tasting with the vintner.

Information for all Pass holders:
All 'Pass' holders are warmly invited to join other Michael Hill International Violin Competition supporters for a light lunch* at 1:00 pm on Friday 02 June at the Queenstown Memorial Centre where they can meet some of the artists and hear about some of the new elements of the 2017 Competition.
*lunch and non-alcoholic beverages are included in the cost of the Pass.
