Cheryl Nicol will be at the Oxford farmers Market to sign her new book A Parallel Universe: A Quirky Memoir of Growing Up in 1960s New Zealand (Mary Egan Publishing).

Evocative of the era, this humorous, punchy and occasionally dramatic memoir of a 1960s childhood is filled with quirky and warm-hearted details of family life. With a repertoire of acutely observed characters, it is a story of resilience and resourcefulness.

Radio Southland's Book Show describes it as "... a funny, honest book about growing up in New Zealand. It fills your belly with laughs and your heart with a sad feeling of times gone by."

A great last minute Christmas gift or entertaining holiday reading. See you there!

About the author:
Besides A Parallel Universe, Cheryl Nicol has published two historical biographies and is a prize-winning author of short fiction. She grew up in Christchurch and now lives in North Canterbury.
