We are offering a day long space in which to reflect on our own mortality and specific wishes for end of life care.

This will be a confidential and supported time with a blend of personal reflection and sharing, experiential exercises and learning about making a 'Living Will' (aka 'Advance Directive' or 'Advance Care Plan').

The Living Will is a process of conversation with loved ones as much as an actual document. It might cover personal wishes relating to:
- the nature or degree of medical involvement in our final days
- where we wish to be
- who we would like to be with us
- organ donation
- funeral
- what we wish to happen to our body

This workshop will be a place to share about these topics that can be hard to approach in ordinary conversation. It would be helpful for people at all stages of life, whether near the end or somewhere in the middle. Through considering our dying, we will leave more in connection with our living - the final part of our day will be a turn towards the next step in our journeys, in the light of this increased awareness of our eventual death.

Participation will be by koha or donation. If you are interested, please contact Tom or Victoria (bios follow).

Tom is a General Practitioner and worked for three years at the Hospice in New Plymouth. He is a graduate of Hakomi mindfulness-based psychotherapy and lives in Thames, working part-time as a GP and seeing people for private holistic consultations.

Victoria has many years' experience in group work facilitation and, through supporting loved ones through their dying journey, has developed a passion for empowered engagement in our own mortality. Among many interests and activities, she has recently started The Simple Coffin Company (www.thesimplecoffincompany.com).
