If you see some crazy hairstyles on June 22, don’t be alarmed – it’s all for a good cause and we want you to take part!

For the first time in New Zealand, Child Cancer Foundation will be holding “Wig Wednesday” - a fundraising day with a difference. It’s easy to participate: schools and businesses just need to register with Child Cancer Foundation at www.childcancer.org.nz.

Schools are encouraged to hold a mufti-day and get the kids to wear wigs for a gold coin donation; while businesses can hold fundraisers and ask their staff to wear wigs on Wig Wednesday (June 22).

Other ideas:
- Bake sale
- Gold coin donation raffle
- Sausage sizzle (some suppliers have a charitable donation so get in quick)
- Book sale
- Walk to work/school day (gather donations via sponsors)

Each week more than three children in New Zealand are diagnosed with cancer and at any given time the Child Cancer Foundation is assisting more than 500 families’ nationwide – offering support in hospital, at home and in the community.

For more information about Wig Wednesday email - wigwednesday@childcancer.org.nz.
