Join TVNZ's Kiwi Living food host Michael Van de Elzen for an evening of food, fun and freebies as part of the Powerco Taranaki Garden Spectacular.

Michael will be demonstrating his talent and sharing great ways of cooking fast healthy food, something he has learnt from the tender age of 14, working in some of Auckland’s landmark restaurants like Kermadecs and Hammerheads. He then embarked on the big ‘OE’ to London where he worked his way up the ranks in Terence Conran’s acclaimed Bluebird restaurant.

Mike encountered many unique challenges and experiences, including heading a 140 chef team for the official opening of the Tate Modern for some 5,000 guests. He and wife Belinda then moved to Ireland, where he headed the kitchen of small luxury hotel Dunbrody Country House, named Conde Nast “World Small Hotel of the Year” while he was there.

They returned to New Zealand, opened Molten in 2004 and then Liquid molten, which they sold in 2011 to pursue new adventures, including TV hosting.
