The Idea Collective, MOTAT’s newest installation showcasing innovation, is partnering with Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) for Auckland’s inaugural Techweek.

During Techweek AKL, The Idea Collective will host a weekend of hands-on technical workshops. These offer the chance to experience first-hand how to make a computer game, use a 3D printer or build a PC. Participants will spend a morning or afternoon learning from some of the most interesting and fun innovators in the city, including The Pop-Up Arcade, Robogals, Hubbub, Playtech and Ames IT.

The team from Pop-Up Arcade will be teaching simple and effective game making tools in this workshop. Participants will be introduced to game making on Flickgame, Scratch and Twine and then encouraged to develop a unique game using their favourite tool. This is a BYOD (bring your own device) event.

The professionals at Pop-Up Arcade are experienced educators who have built and run distinctive DIY arcades at a range of locations around Auckland.
