The Idea Collective, MOTAT’s newest installation showcasing innovation, is partnering with Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) for Auckland’s inaugural Techweek.

During Techweek AKL, The Idea Collective will host a weekend of hands-on technical workshops. These offer the chance to experience first-hand how to make a computer game, use a 3D printer or build a PC. Participants will spend a morning or afternoon learning from some of the most interesting and fun innovators in the city, including The Pop-Up Arcade, Robogals, Hubbub, Playtech and Ames IT.

Expert creative technologists from Hubbub will be demonstrating the basics of 3D printing in this workshop focusing on one of the most exciting innovations of our time. Whether they are producing jewellery or body parts, there’s no denying that 3D printers are a game changer and that they are rapidly becoming more and more accessible.

Participants aged 16+ should bring their laptops/tablets along in order to design their own model and have it printed by the Makerbots at MOTAT.
