Members of the public are invited to attend the Upper Hutt Anzac Day Parade and Dawn Service.

Anzac Day commemorates those who have died at war serving New Zealand and it honours returned servicemen and women, past and present. On Monday 25 April we observe the centenary of the first Anzac commemorations held in 1916 across New Zealand and Australia.

Upper Hutt’s official Anzac commemorations will begin at 5:30 am on Monday 25 April. The dawn parade will assemble at the Queen Street carpark (behind ANZ) and march on at 5:45 am. The parade will travel south along Queen Street and make its way to Main Street via Pine Avenue. It will then continue south along Main Street up to Fergusson Drive where it will turn left and follow the road to Upper Hutt’s Civic Centre.

At 6:00 am the service of dedication will begin at the Civic Centre with the traditional firing of the shot.

If wet, this event will take place in the Professionals Recreation Hall (via Expessions Arts and Entertainment Centre).
