All Ages

Bay of Plenty Symphonia presents a concert of classics, showcasing the extraordinary development of music from Renaissance through to Contemporary. “Time Travels” will be an exploration of music over four centuries, with a varied programme of eight shorter pieces, performed in chronological order of composition.

Violin soloist Benjamin Morrison, the leading Kiwi violinist of his generation who regularly performs with the Vienna Philharmonic, will be playing a Vivaldi concerto and the virtuoso Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso by Saint Saens. These major works will be a treat to hear with Benjamin’s masterful violin expertise.

With overtures from Monteverdi and Beethoven, a Mozart symphony, Bach’s Suite No 3, and beautiful pieces from 20th century composers Shostakovich and Paert, this delightful programme will be a glimpse into musical history, with pieces that have truly stood the test of time.

Guest Conductor: Steffan Sinclair
