Life today is fast, demanding and constantly changing. Looking good and appearing strong and competent are valued attributes in today’s competitive environment and so we learn to hide our inner lives and any signs of personal vulnerability. The problem is when we focus on outward appearances, we risk losing touch with the deeply held values and beliefs of our inner selves, and end up leading a divided life, with a growing sense of isolation and distrust, feeling stressed and at risk of burnout.

This retreat offers space for you to reflect on your life’s journey and the idea of true self, acknowledging your gifts and potentials, as well as your limits. You will explore the way you bring these aspects of yourself to your outer life and work in the world. During the day you will learn principles and practices that will help you live in an undivided manner, giving you the courage to bring your whole self to your daily life and work.

The Circle of Trust approach is based on the work of writer, teacher and activist Parker J. Palmer. Drawing on insights from poets, storytellers and various wisdom traditions, it offers safe space for self-reflection and shared exploration.

This retreat is for you if you are looking to develop your capacity and courage to lead a more authentic, meaningful and engaged life that is aligned with your inner values.

Going on retreat:
We use the word ‘retreat’ not to suggest escape or withdrawal, but rather as an opportunity to engage at a deeper level with your life and work – time and space to pay attention to your identity and to embrace the various roles and responsibilities that fill your life. It is about engaging fully with yourself and the work you do.

"I want my inner truth to be the plumb line for the choices I make about my life - about the work that I do and how I do it, about the relationships I enter into and how I conduct them." - Parker J. Palmer

The program fee is based on a sliding scale of $50.00 - $100.00. Please pay as much as you can afford within this range. It includes materials, morning and afternoon tea. Please bring your own lunch.
