The Hunter Gathering is a new event series which combines music, art, history, theatre, creative writing and critical thought. The series brings together presenters and performers from across Victoria University’s schools and faculties, and is hosted by Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music.

At this event, Margaret Medlyn (mezzo) and Diedre Irons (piano) will give a recital of ‘unashamedly romantic’ songs by Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and Barber.

Heidi Thomson, Associate Professor in English Literature, will give an introduction to some iconic texts from the Romantic period, which will be read by David O’Donnell, Associate Professor in Theatre.

David O’Donnell will also set us up for the evening by giving a short talk on the concept of voice at the beginning of the event.

Tickets include a glass of wine after the event - we invite you to stay on and meet the performers and presenters in true ‘gathering’ style.
