Take That

The award winning singers and musicians who thrilled you with the music of Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole in the stage shows “Blue Eyes” (Circa Theatre) and “Unforgettable” (Old St Pauls) now proudly present a celebration of one of the greatest song-writing teams of the early twentieth century, George and Ira Gershwin.

The Gershwin songbook is synonymous with the sounds and style of the jazz era and the brothers’ prolific catalogue of hits includes over two dozen scores for Broadway and Hollywood. From sophisticated compositions such as “Rhapsody in Blue” to the musical comedy of “Lady Be Good” and the classic folk opera “Porgy and Bess”, their music continues to move modern audiences to smiles and to tears.

The soaring wooden arches and glowing interior of the stunning Old St Paul’s in Thorndon is the elegant venue where some of New Zealand’s finest musicians will perform; including reunited vocalists Andrew London (“Andrew London Trio”, “Hot Club Sandwich”), April Phillips (“Blue Eyes”, “Unforgettable”) and James Cameron (“The Velox Brothers”, “The Cattlestops”). Delight in hit songs such as “Someone To Watch Over Me”, “Summertime”, “I Got Rhythm”, “S’Wonderful”, “They Can’t Take That Away From Me”, and many more not to be missed! Also starring Nils Olsen, Greg Crayford and Dan Hayles.
