A talk with a panel discussion on the waste problem and available solutions.

Jonathon Hannon from Massey Zero Waste Academy (ZWA) will tell us about zero waste concept, the history and role of the zero waste academy, the ‘living labs’ approach and research outcomes of ZWA in the support of the PNCC waste management and minimisation plan and some future focused thoughts about opportunities and innovations.

This presentation will be followed by a short video: Palmerston North’s environmental group, Carrying Our Future; and two short solution-focused talks “Polystyrene: Why it should be classified ‘hazardous’” by Dr. Trisia Farrelly (Massey University), and "Reusable Nappies" by Pamela Rees (Nappies Godmother).
