Blue Smoke are pleased to welcome one of New Zealand's finest adopted song crafters through our doors this June.

"Somewhere between the streak of afro nodding and the solid foot stomping lies hints of how the internal metronome might be traced and placed in the context of external groove. The smooth growl of a voice can all at once threaten and sooth; and seated on a chair this music that is inside comes up and through – his body a conduit, his guitar though is so much more than just a tool of the trade." - Simon Sweetman

This seated concert will be an insight into the heart of Paul Ubana Jones... both in his diversity of writing style, and in his interpretations of other people's music and songs. Paul's influences range from: Brit Folk/to the Folk/Blues of the USA and West Africa.

These are the roots of Paul and consequently create the 'uniqueness of this world class soloist'. Jim Kershner's review from the Washington Post: described Paul's music as a: ''synthesis of Richie Havens-Ravi Shankir and Andre Segovia''.
