In 2014 Stanley Palmer was one of a group of esteemed New Zealand and Australian artists, filmmakers and historians who travelled to the Gallipoli Peninsula to make work towards the exhibition entitled Your Friend the Enemy. The work created as a result of this visit toured Australia and was shown at Pataka in Wellington as part of the Anzac commemorations.

'Shall Be My Brother: Gallipoli Remembered' is an exhibition of paintings and monoprints created by Stanley from sketches and paintings completed during this trip to Gallipoli. He draws on his personal connection that saw both his Father and Uncle serve in Gallipoli. The exhibition is accompanied by a video (Shall Be My Brother) of Stanley talking about his family's connection to the Gallipoli Campaign along with historical photographs and artwork featured in the exhibition.

Painter and printmaker Stanley Palmer is well known for his depictions of a rugged New Zealand landscape. Often featuring the coastline or off-shore islands, he has been exhibiting since 1958 and has exhibited widely in New Zealand and internationally.

Stanley Palmer's works feature in a number of collections including: Te Papa Tongarewa Museum of New Zealand, The University of Auckland, City Art Gallery, Auckland, Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, New Plymouth and the Millennium Public Art Gallery, Blenheim.

In the said event, Stanley Palmer will have a Floor Talk from 2pm to 3pm.
